VideoJug: How To Give A Great Man To Man Hug

Sometimes the simplest things can be fraught with hidden dangers and connotations. An example of this is the stylized man-to-man embrace otherwise known as the "man hug," "dude hug" or "pound hug" (the later term being preferred by central knowledge depository Wikipedia). Executing this deceptively simple maneuver incorrectly can mean permanent ostracization from creeped out friends, relative or acquaintances. Sadly this essential social skill often has to be self-taught, since it has only gained widespread social acceptance in recent years and was therefore not part of the skill-set traditionally passed down from father to son. Fortunately, Videojug have come up with an easy to follow instructional video called How To Give A Great Man To Man Hug for those who need to perfect their man hug technique.

This helpful guide (click HERE to view) breaks the maneuver down into five simple steps. It includes advice on when to hug, how to approach a hug, what to do during a hug, how to complete or "break" a hug, and acceptable post-hug behavior. Helpful hints include the pre-hug head tilt, which discretely lets the hugee know which direction you're going in on, helping you avoid any embarrassing collisions. The videomakers suggest, for best form, always tilt your head to the left, though sadly this rule of etiquette is far from set in stone, which perhaps is the cause of the vast majority of hug-related accidents as left and right inclined huggers inadvertently slug it out. The English embrace experts sternly warn against looking down or turning you head mid-hug since "inappropriate nuzzling may occur," but apparently the key part of a successfully executed man hug is the final manly pat, which separates the maneuver from a more womanly cuddle.
